If a train damaged my windshield will the railroad company pay for it?
Sunday, November 29th, 2009Tiffany C asked:
I was driving through a sort of a tunnel and I was hit with something, rocks I guess. Now I have two dime sized spots on my windshield. I’m afraid they will start cracking and ruin the whole thing. Will the railroad company pay to seal the chips? How much does that sort of thing cost?

Does anyone have any suggestions for treating railroad ties that are drying out?

Now that you cannot use creosote, what is a good way to treat and protect aging railroad ties in a retainer wall? We have a concrete block and railroad tie retainer wall and it is starting to weather and dry out. We went to Home Depot and their suggestion was Thompson’s Water proofing for the timbers and roof tar to fill the cracks between the timbers and the blocks caused by settling. Any other tips? Thanks!
